This arrived in the mail a few minutes ago and I don't like it already.
First: When I ordered there was no size specification (picture or text), so I had to guess as to whether or not this would fit on my dog. The end result, there's no possible way it will fit her, it's much too small. My dog is 50 lbs, this is probably acceptable for a dog between 15-25 lbs.
Second: It arrived wet... The mail bag is dry as a bone, as well as the Ziploc type bag is dry, but the sealed back inside the other two is completely saturated. There's steam inside that bag. I took a paper towel to it, and no moisture is coming off the vest itself, but it feels wet. Now I will say that it is cooler than room temperature, but if I wanted my dog to be wet I could just hose her down.
Third: Coat type/thickness is a factor! My dog is a sheepadoodle (sheepdog poodle mix) her coat is currently thick and fluffy, she gets a haircut in two weeks. I'm not sure that the actual vest's cooling will be able to get through her coat to her skin until she gets a shorter haircut.
Fourth: It smelled like oil, per my husband. I knew there was an odd odor, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. Now my sense of smell is extremely strong, my best friend calls me a human bloodhound, so I could only imagine what my poor dog would smell wearing this.
